‘Chances for children means exactly that’
As 2015 ended ChildsLife’s 20th year began. I can hardly believe that so much time has passed since the organization was started. Over the years we have witnessed first-hand the need to give people the capacity to take on challenges in their day-to-day life. We try to help people have the capacity to be resilient. Our work has changed since the early days when providing food was the number one activity. However, in addition to food, we work with schools and communities to help them have the skills and tools they need to care for their children. We work to help people become self-sufficient. Amongst other accomplishments in 2015 we built greenhouses and increased our commitment to the UN’s W.A.S.H goal to provide water and sanitation and hygiene to communities. We also focused on teaching life and work skills to both teenagers and their parents providing them with the skills they need to work towards more prosperous futures. To ChildsLife, our slogan: Chances for children means exactly that. That the work we do provides all the children in our communities to grow up with the opportunity to learn, to play, to be healthy, to know love, security, and to have a roof over their head. But we know also that it is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.
To all our supporters, thank you.
